Located in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, Sindhudurg is a famous tourist attraction surrounded the Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. It is situated at a distance of 490 kms from the capital Mumbai. It is situated very close to Goa. There is a total number of 37 Forts in the district which is the highest number of forts in Maharashtra.
Sindhudurg Fort, built by King Shivaji in the 16th century is the important tourist destination to visit. Sindhudurg is famous for its serene and Beautiful Beaches, Temples, Padmagarh Fort, Vijaydurg Fort, Tillari Dam, Navadurga Temple Redi, Travel Period start from the month November to May ending. Most of the tourist crowd showing in Diwali Festival & Christmas vacations and in the month of April – May. Adventure Sports like Scuba Diving, Parasailing, Snorkeling, Dolphin Safari and other Boating Activities can be enjoyed in this coastal district. The cuisine of the district is Malvani Cuisine that includes Rice, Coconut, Fish, Crab, King Prawns and other sea foods served along with Soul Kadi. The most popular Dish is Kombdi Vade. This district is famous for tropical fruit like Mangoes, Cashews, Jamuns, Coconuts etc.
The nearest railway station is at Kudal / Kankawali and the nearest airport is at Dabolim in Goa. Also Sindhudurg Airport is an airport at Chipi-Parule in Sindhudurg district, in the State of Maharashtra, India. It is located 27 kms from the Mumbai - Goa highway, 12 Kms from Malvan close to the sea shore. Construction was completed by the second half of Year 2018, some formalities are still pending. MALVAN BEACH :
Malvan is a Konkani town where people speak a combination of both Marathi & Konkani languages. Malvan is easily accessible by road, being 505 Kms from Mumbai and 140 Kms from Ratnagiri. National Highway NH-66 from Mumbai and Goa runs as far as Kasaal, after which Malvan is a State Transport Bus or Rickshaw or Private Vehicles ride of approx. 28 Kms away. Malvan is one of the most commercially active Beach in the Konkan. There are many Restaurants & Bars on the beach.
It is close to the City Centre and perhaps the most accessible beach in the area. Another promising forthcoming attraction here is a one of its kind marine park in Asia. The area of Malvan is a fortified island on the coastal reef. Most of these marine flora and fauna from the inter-tidal area is exposed during any low tide. So keep an eye out for a great opportunity for Scuba Diving, Dolphin Safari, Boat Riding, Snorkeling and Parasailing Activities in Maharashtra.

DEVBAUG – TARKARLI - MALVAN IS A PLACE OF PEACE
Devbag is a small fishing village which sits on a thin strip of land with the Karli River Backwaters on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. Devbag beach is adjacent to Tarkarli Beach and ends at Devbag Sangam Point (A confluence of the Karli River flowing into the Arabian Sea). It is easily accessed via the Malvan-Tarkarli Road. Devbag beach is less crowded during the high tourist season and attracts tourists looking for peace and relaxation.
Devbag literally mean garden of god but is a village in reality and is inhabited mostly by Fishermen who are now engaged into tourism activities by offering their boats into deep seas. Devbag offers different varieties of Sea Foods at much cheapest cost. Dolphins are a very common sight here and some popular cuisines available here include Fish Fry, Crab Curry, King Prawns, Coconut, Rise and other sea food served along with Soul Kadi.
